Fare Vaihere

Mo'orea

On the eastern shore of Opunohu Bay, Faire Vaihere consists of four bungalows resting in a leafy plot. They're nothing special (and for the price, you’d expect air-conditioning), but are well kitted out; book in to the ‘Badamier’, which is right on the water. There’s no beach, but snorkelling is excellent off the pontoon and Ta’ahiamanu (Mareto) Beach is a 15-minute walk away.

The owner is a dive instructor who readily dispenses expert opinions about local snorkel and dive trips. Evening meals are prepared to order (3950 CFP). Bikes, kayaks and snorkelling gear are complimentary. Rack rates are a tad overpriced, but specials are available between November and May for longer stays.
