Club Bali Hai

Mo'orea

One of Mo’orea’s few midprice accommodation options, Club Bali Hai has a range of anonymous rooms in a two-storey, motel-like building as well as an assortment of local-style bungalows, including a handful of overwater units that are among the least expensive in French Polynesia. A tiny swimming pool and a restaurant (breakfast and lunch only) over the water round off the offerings.

The decor is nothing special, but the setting – it sits on the eastern shore of Cook’s Bay with a picture-postcard view of Mt Rotui – and the relaxed feel more than make up for the slightly dated sense of style. White sand has been brought in to form a sunbathing patch along the shore, and there’s superb snorkelling a few fin-strokes away. Frequent online promotional deals provide real value.
