Rohotu Fare

Bora Bora

This upscale venture is a more intimate alternative to a resort, with three all-wood, fully equipped bungalows cocooned in exotic gardens on the mountainside overlooking Povai Bay. No beach nearby, but Matira Point is an easy bike ride away, or you can arrange transfer with Nir, your Israeli host, who speaks excellent English. Free transfers to Vaitape quay and free bikes.

The two lagoon-view bungalows are the best, with stunning views and air-con, while the cheaper unit has garden views and a ceiling fan. They are all furnished in an elegant style with plenty of wooden furniture and appealing outdoor bathrooms. If you don’t fancy cooking, there are several restaurants nearby.
