Café Tivoli

Top choice in Vevey

The little town of Châtel-St-Denis, 13km northeast of Vevey via the A12, warrants a visit solely for its legendary fondue moitié-moitié (made with Gruyére and Vacherin Fribourgeois), cooked up at this much-loved, family-run and very traditional restaurant. You pay a per-person fee for your share of the bounty of the caquelon (fondue pot).

Take bus 213 from Vevey station to Châtel-St-Denis Gare (Sfr5.60, 30 minutes), the end of the line.
