True, the music is often more folkloric than flamenco, but this Triana institution is the antithesis of a showbiz flamenco tablao (choreographed show), with cheek-to-jowl crowds, zero amplification and spontaneous outbreaks of dancing. Doors don't open till around midnight, and there's an arbitrary admission policy, so you may be refused entry. Reservations recommended.
Casa Anselma is at the corner of Calle Pages del Corro and Covadonga, and has no sign – look out for two traditional tiled panels reading 'Cafe Refrescos Vinos' above arched entrances.
