El Ladrón del Agua

Granada

A sensitively restored 16th-century mansion overlooking the Río Darro, in the lower Albayzín, family-run El Ladrón centres on a marble-clad patio with a fountain and original pillars. A creative theme fills the 15 tastefully updated rooms, which are named for poems by Juan Ramón Jiménez and decorated with lovely tiling and antique desks. Breakfasts are served in the arched aljibe.
