Mandarin Oriental

L'Eixample

At this imposing former bank, the 98 rooms channel contemporary designer style (straight lines, muted colour schemes), while fabulous views unfurl from the roof terrace, its stunning black-tiled pool and its Peruvian fusion bar-restaurant. Many standard rooms have deep bathtubs; all overlook Passeig de Gràcia or an interior sculpted garden. Also here is double-Michelin-starred restaurant Moments, along with a swish spa.

Celebrated chef Carme Ruscalleda (who runs Moments with her son Raül Balam) has also devised the menus at brunchy on-site Blanc.
