Iglesia de San Juan de Amandi

Asturias

This fine late-Romanesque church, built in the early 13th century, lies 1.5km south of Villaviciosa. Despite later interventions, including the addition of a late-18th-century porch and reconstruction due to Spanish Civil War–era fire damage, the church retains much of its original beauty, with a spare stone interior, classic rounded arches and elegant carving on the capitals and western portal.
