High on a hillside just outside Mijas village, the TRH's top draw cards are the exceptional Costa del Sol panoramas from its long terrace bar, the big outdoor pool, and the newly refurbished Guinda spa, offering massages and a variety of other treatments. Downsides? It's a sprawling place that can feel a bit institutional when the tour buses roll in.

The four floors of rooms are staggered down a hillside (you enter via the 4th floor), which means that the whitewashed hotel is unobtrusive from the outside, fitting in perfectly with the innate prettiness of Mijas. Check online for excellent deals.
