La Vieja Escuela

On a ridge in the Las Casas barrio (district) of town, near the church, husband-and-wife-owned La Vieja Escuela was a schoolhouse until 1968. Grab a red-bench table on the street and settle in for lovingly cooked fresh fish of the day, tortilla de patatas and meaty mains like carne fiesta (grilled meats, peppers and potatoes). Service can be slow.
