Ddobagi Chicken

Seoul

One of the most famous and best-value chicken joints in Seoul. Portions are smallish, but the fried exterior is crispy-perfect and the juiciness of the meat will have you dreaming about it for days. Half-and-half combinations are the most popular; choices include original, sweetly marinated, soy marinated or spicy.

Decor is a shabby collection of red plastic chairs, but this remains a locals' favourite, full on weekends and crowds queueing for chicken to go. There's a ₩1000 discount for takeaway and the Han River Park is just a five-minute walk south for picnicking.
