Bateleur Bushveld Camp

Kruger National Park

The oldest and smallest of the bushveld camps, Bateleur has loads of wilderness ambience. The seven thatched-roof self-catering cottages with their 1930s steel-frame windows have a rustic feel, set along the Mashokwe (ask for Nos 1 or 7, of GA6 class). The hide has a light for night viewing. Firewood and ice are available. Night and/or sunset drives cost R325.

Keep an eye out for the camp's namesake, the handsome bateleur eagle.
