There are 12 loft-style rooms, each one designed by a different artist and inspired by a particular era in the city’s history, at this art-themed hotel in the heart of Maboneng. All have kitchens and, in some, the decor has seen better days. Still, it's a cool concept and all the corridors are plastered in art, too.
The Sir Abe Bailey Suite takes on a late-19th-century Chinese gold-rush aesthetic, while Perpetual Liberty is decidedly more contemporary with an enormous bed with a spectacular skyline view (but no air-con). No breakfast is served, but there's no shortage of eateries nearby.
