Blyde Canyon Forever Resort

Blyde River Canyon

This rambling resort has a wide choice of accommodation. The solid brick chalets on the canyon's edge are well set up, with TV, kitchenette, shower and bath; the pricier ones are worth it for the views and extra space. For jaw-dropping views of the Three Rondavels rock formations, ask for Nos 73 to 98.

Watch out for the cheeky baboons – they've been known to jump through windows and help themselves to your breakfast! The resort's attractions and facilities include hiking trails (non-guests pay R50 to walk), viewpoints, a bar-restaurant with Three Rondavels views, a mini-supermarket and a liquor store.
