Honiara

You certainly won’t fall in love with this two-storey, barrack-style block at the eastern end of town – the neon-lit corridors feel oppressive and the rooms are bare. On the plus side, the extensive grounds encompass a restaurant, a bar and a swimming pool, and it has a great waterfront location.

Ask for a room with a sea view otherwise you'll end up in a room overlooking the parking lot and the main road. It's about 2km east of the centre.
