Gostilna Kmetec

Top choice in Eastern Slovenia

One of our favourite gostilna (inn-like restaurant) anywhere, the Kmetec sits high in the hills, looking Celje's old castle square in the face. Offerings are on the meaty side – venison, boar, steak cooked in hay – but don't fail to try the creamy pumpkin souffle (€4.60). It's heavenly.
