Tucked away at the end of a forest road and perpetually shrouded in barbecue smoke, this is a Fruška Gora institution. Its setting, in the idyllic Stražilovo valley, can't be beaten. Though the menu is simple, the Serbian classics are grilled, basted and baked to perfection. It's only 5km from Sremski Karlovci.
The tomb of Branko Radičević – considered the founder of modern Serbian poetry – is on a hill behind the restaurant; from there you can walk off your lunch on a path running through the woods.
