Built in 1886, the Royal claims to be the oldest hotel in Belgrade, but there is nothing antiquated about it. Completely rebooted in 2018, it now offers 97 simple but modernised rooms draped in black-and-white Belgrade photos of yore (though somebody forgot the 'up' elevator buttons along the way!).
Standard rooms come off as a bit cramped (except for the singles), but superiors are nicely sized and worth the extra 300RSD.
