This is an impressive refurbished 18th-century mansion built for the Earl of Galloway. A maze inside, it has tastefully decorated rooms with a classical style and plenty of character. Bathrooms are OK, but don't have the same wow factor. Try to get a room overlooking the garden (No 7 is good).
