Tiare Cottages

The Cook Islands

The garden units are basic, with a main sleeping area and a simple kitchen, toilet and shower tacked on the end. The newer self-contained lodge is more comfortable, with a better-equipped kitchen and an airy and cheerily furnished bedroom. There’s also a brilliant house – O’Kiva – with panoramic sea views from its cliff-top perch.

It’s self-contained and excellent value, and one of the nicest places to stay on the Cooks’ outer islands. Dinner costs NZ$20 per person, and you’ll need to provide for your own breakfast and lunch.
