Caribe Hilton

Opened in 1949, this iconic resort – the birthplace of the piña colada – has played host to numerous celebrities. Today its updated rooms are loaded with amenities, with a sprawling pool and grounds. It's a bit of an island unto itself, but there’s beach access and Balneario El Escambrón is 10 minutes way. Old San Juan is a 40-minute stroll.
