Tavira's best hotel is set on a hill; it's worth paying extra for a south-facing room, with views from the balcony over the vast, free-form pool (and poolside bar), palm-planted gardens and the town. Contemporary, sand-toned rooms are up-to-the-minute; there's also an indoor pool spa, gym, gourmet restaurant and panoramic rooftop bar. Parking is first come, first served.
Excellent facilities for kids include a paddling pool, baby cots and pull-out sofa beds in the four-person family rooms.
