Jimão

Ribeira

Many of the restaurants on Praça da Ribeira are tourist central, but Jimão is the real deal. Service is genuinely friendly, the upstairs dining room has a cracking view of Ribeira, and the tapas – garlicky gambas (prawns), codfish and octopus salad, sardine toasts and the like – are prepared with care and served with great wines.
