Ponte da Arrábida

Arcing 270m in a single swoop over the Douro River and linking Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia, this mighty bridge is visible from afar. Designed by prominent Portuguese civil engineer Edgar Cardoso, it was the world's longest concrete bridge at the time of its completion in 1963. Climb it if you dare for knockout views of the river and city.
