The lines can get long at this popular cafe evoking an opulent, turn-of-the-century Vienna coffeehouse. The Austrian specialties, courtesy of Michelin-starred chef Kurt Gutenbrunner, include crepes with smoked trout, goulash soup and roasted bratwurst – all beautifully presented. There’s also a mouthwatering list of specialty sweets, including a divine Sacher torte (dark chocolate cake with apricot confiture).
If the wait feels too long, you can find the same menu downstairs at Café Fledermaus, which sports a more modern look and is often used when Sabarsky is full.
