Maple Leaf Bar

Top choice in New Orleans

The premier night-time destination in the Riverbend area, the legendary Maple Leaf’s dimly lit, pressed-tin caverns are the kind of environs you’d expect from a New Orleans juke joint. Work up a sweat on the small dance-floor or relax at the bar in the next room. The Grammy Award–winning Rebirth Brass Band plays Tuesdays, starting between 10pm and 11pm.

Scenes from the film Angel Heart (1987), in which the late, great blues man Brownie McGhee starred, were shot here, as well as more recent classics such as Ray (2004), about the life of music legend Ray Charles. There’s also a nice back patio on which to cool your heels.
