Chiang Mai Province

In 2018 Four Seasons introduced this upmarket northern Thai restaurant overlooking the rice terraces, and its tasting menus, afternoon tea and Sunday brunch have earned high marks with well-heeled travellers. Specialities include yum pla fu (crispy catfish with tangerine dressing) and tom yum kha moo (pork leg soup), and the eclectic cocktails and fine wines pair exceedingly well.

Show up hungry, as portions are huge. The restaurant holds an afternoon tea from 1pm to 4pm each day, and there's also a popular brunch on Sunday with live music and international dishes (think seafood towers and grilled meats).
