This much-welcome new addition to Kızkalesi's beachfront is in an attractive old building in the shade of an enormous 50-year-old rubber tree. The rainbow-coloured fan lights complement the cheery menu of tasty, good-value international favourites as well as what might be the finest sıkma börek (pastry filled with cheese or meat) in the eastern Mediterranean.
There's a wonderful wood-burning stove baking bread to die for, and Continental/full Turkish breakfast is ₺28/35. The upstairs terrace overlooking Kızkalesi Castle is a delight. Great outdoor bar, too
There are also four retro-style rooms (single/double/triple €40/70/85) on the 1st floor with full-frontal views of the sea and romantic Kızkalesi Castle.
