Fu Wan Villa

Top choice

A few steps from the chocolate boutique are relaxing resort-type suites and villas. Four of the villas come with a small lap pool and kitchenette. You can buy fresh seafood (for which Donggang is famous) from the market and cook it yourself while your kids run around in the outdoor living room. Rates include breakfast, and are slighter higher on weekends.

The hotel has a restaurant specialising in seafood dishes; mains are NT$150 to NT$1380.

To get here from New Zuoying High Speed Rail (HSR) Station in Kaohsiung, take the Kenting Express to Dapeng Station at Zuoying. Travel time is 50 minutes. From there, it's a 1.3km walk to Fu Wan. Alternatively you can book a ride online with Fu Wan; it's NT$1000 to 2000 per person for a trip to or from Zuoying HSR Station.
