The world's first (and only) 254-room IKEA Hotell in Älmhult, opened in 2016, is adjacent to the eponymous museum. Rooms follow a predictably Scandic design theme and are cheap, starting with the teeny 4-sq-m cabin room (shared bathroom), chic and comfortable, furnished entirely by IKEA – who would've guessed! This could also be the world's first 'try before you buy' experience.
