At the entrance to the Padam Palace, and incorporating historic features that are considerably older, the high-comfort Nau Nabh (Nine Queens) is a delightful oasis with 30 beautifully kept new rooms, a manicured rear lawn, bar and recommended restaurant.
Room prices vary considerably by size (a few of the smallest lack AC) but all have excellent beds and classical-style furniture. Most are ranged around a three-storey mini-courtyard of traditional wooden balustrade-pillars where room 306 (₹5900) has a fabulous palace view. A few are in a side wing behind a photogenic antique colonnade. Unique room 314 (₹3540, no AC) has a very special carved ceiling.
