Ipoh's signature dish, tauge ayam (chicken and bean sprouts), has been honed to perfection at perennially popular Lou Wong: velvety-smooth poached chicken, served over soy-drenched cucumber with delicately seasoned bean sprouts sprinkled with pepper. Order sides of rice or noodles, chicken broth and – for the brave – 'chicken miscellaneous' (offal).
Lou Wong's popularity has spawned a number of imitators with suspiciously similar names nearby.
