This breezy oasis in northern Kaʻanapali feels less frenetic than similar properties 2 miles south along Kaʻanapali Beach. From the open-air lobby with its well-placed couches to the aesthetically pleasing pools and the extra-spacious lanai adjoining the units, there's a consistent and effective blend of style, functionality and comfort. Units are individually owned so decor varies. The spa offers honeymoon massage packages.

In each unit, Bosch appliances, Maui-made coffee, and washers and dryers round out the appeal. Daily resort fee is $35. Check the website for deals and packages.

One quibble: for a family-friendly resort that touts its fun pools, there sure are a lot of posted rules!
