At the vanguard of the dramatic arts in Warsaw is this storied-theatre company based in a wing of the Palace of Culture & Science. There are two stages – the grand main auditorium and a studio space. They present a mixed repertoire of shows ranging from contemporary Polish to Shakespeare and hit musicals – some with English subtitles.

The main stage is named in honour of Gustaw Holoubek, who during his tenure from 1972 to 1983 aimed to make this the unofficial national theatre. Teatr Dramatyczny also manages two other spaces across town: Teatr na Woli and Scena Przodownik
