This small mall's 21st-century take on the classic souq gets a thumbs-up for its appealing Middle Eastern architecture and waterfront location. The shops here stock items with roots in Arabia including oil-based perfumes and chocolate-covered dates. There's also a couple of art stores that sell original, contemporary crafts a step above what you'll find in most gift-type shops in Abu Dhabi.
In particular we like the contemporary ceramic tiles in Al Saadah Art Gallery and the fun and funky stationery, art prints, coffee mugs and cards, toting contemporary design takes on traditional Middle Eastern art, in Gallery One.
