Four Seasons Resort Lanaʻi

Top choice

The premier destination on Lana‘i, this resort reopened in 2016 after a lavish redesign that saw rooms and public spaces thoroughly revamped to reflect a minimalist tropical aesthetic. New pools have naturalistic features (and overall shallow depths) and the gardens invite meandering. The 213 rooms and suites feature every luxury. Views of Manele Bay's azure waters and beach are sublime.

Until the status of the Four Seasons location near Lana‘i City is resolved, this quiet, isolated resort is the main place where visitors stay on the island. For an additional fee ($350 per day), guests can play the resort's Jack Nicklaus–branded 7039yd course, offering spectacular greens along seaside cliffs. The 12th hole challenges golfers to hit across 200yd of ocean surf.
