Otočec Castle's restaurant is as fancy as you would hope: ancient stone walls, stained glass and locally made artisanal furniture. It's formal, but not at all stuffy and service is excellent. The mains aren't as expensive as the setting would lead you to believe – and the degustation menu may be worth the splurge, at €55 for six courses.
The same menu is served all day, with wide-ranging prices – from a cheaper chicken or trout fillet to fancy beefsteak with truffles. We like that anyone can drop in for a coffee in the courtyard. Dinner bookings advised.
