Shanghai No 1 Department Store

Opened in 1936, the Shanghai No 1 Department Store was formerly known as the Sun Company and was one of East Nanjing Rd’s big department stores (with Wing On, Sun Sun and Sincere) and the first to be equipped with an escalator. Today it averages 150,000 shoppers a day over nine floors of top-brand merchandise.
