This place – a branch of the iconic Ulaanbaatar Hotel – is not bad on its own, but looks a little sad compared to the swanky Terelj Hotel next door. The whole place is bit of a relic, and in desperate need of general maintenance, but rooms are fine and spacious. There's a gaudy pink restaurant (8am to 9pm; mains T3000 to T30,000) with decent vegetarian options.
Adding to its faded colonial atmosphere is its billiard room, par-three golf course (nine/18 holes T30,000/50,000, club hire T18,000) and golf-driving range.
