Phaidon Beach Resort

Top choice in Panay

This is both a great place to stay and adventure-travel HQ. Owned by a Filipino-Austrian couple, this very private resort has its own white-sand beach, a small pool, a sea-view restaurant, some smallish bungalows, and a great lineup of adventures including trekking, birdwatching, river boating, islands and especially diving. Tours range from P800 to P3500. Credit cards accepted.

The stop for Ceres Liner buses is right outside the resort's gate. Or a van shuttle from Caticlan can be arranged for P1500.
