No longer the backpacking surfer's HQ, Ocean 101, spread over a manicured lawn facing a sea wall just north of the Cloud Nine break, has evolved over the years. Basic budget rooms are part of the older 101; the pricier beachfront quarters with high ceilings and big bathrooms are part of the new. A two-storey waterfront pavilion provides scenic lounging space.
The waterfront restaurant has been enlarged and improved, but the food and service, despite the voluminous staff, remain ordinary (mains P180 to P420).
