Miniloc Island Resort

Bacuit Archipelago

This is the least swanky of El Nido Resorts' four Palawan properties, although you'll hardly be slumming it. The cottages, many of them set over water, are native style with thatched roofs. In the early morning you can kayak in Big Lagoon and Small Lagoon before the tourist hordes arrive. Pure bliss.

It's on a secluded cove with crystal-clear waters populated by a resident school of giant jacks (trevally). Prices include use of kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and other gear. Free scheduled boat transfers from El Nido (30 minutes)
