Casa Republica

Lima

On the wide boulevard that evokes Barranco's former grandeur, this stately 1920s Republican-style home sashays onto the hotel scene. Inside, there's a playful tension between classic design and modern accents, with stained glass, chandeliers and marble baths juxtaposed with angular Scandinavian furniture and brash contemporary art. Rooms are very comfortable, with full amenities and king-sized beds; some have bathtubs.

It's worth checking out the rooftop lounge, which has ocean views perfect for evening cocktails. There are plans to add 14 more rooms out back in a new construction.
