On Titicaca's only private island, this is as exclusive as resorts get. Terraced rooms are well-appointed, with down duvets, fireplaces and lake views. The colorful flora, walks, lake swims, kayaking and chance to spot wild vicuña (threatened, wild relatives of alpacas) without the crowds make this the paradise island of postcards.
The hotel provides pricey daily transfers (three hours, per person round-trip S660) at 7am for guests from the pier in Puno, with stops to visit Islas Uros and Isla Taquile; return transfers are at 12.45pm. Ask about the shorter 15-minute transfer, though you need to arrange your own transport by land first.
