Run by rugged and proud Canadians Diana and Wayne, this deluxe ecolodge steeped in sustainable and community tourism is at the mouth of the Quebrada Llaca, 8km east of Huaraz. It’s made entirely of adobe and built by hand. You can either stay in comfortable double rooms in the main lodge or in fancier private cabins, with fireplaces and bathtubs.
Lots of trekking opportunities are available, including numerous day hikes right from the lodge, as well as day trips on horseback. For a post-hiking bonus, there's a sauna and communal lounge with a real fire. Dinners made from ingredients plucked from their own greenhouse are included in the price.
The inn can arrange taxi pick-ups from central Huaraz and/or the airport.
