The structure itself feels a little bit too much like a chain hotel, so you sacrifice on cozy charm at this 54-room, Swiss-run hotel, but the immaculate rooms all have great views and are packed with the requisite mod cons. Balcony rooms are worth the investment for the wood-burning fireplaces, plant-lined terraces and in-your-face views to Huascarán peak.
The excellent on-site restaurant, Chalet Suisse, serves international and Peruvian food in addition to Swiss specialties.
