Souq

Oman

This enormous souq is flooded with vegetable and grain sellers for half the day and virtually abandoned for the rest. One or two shops stay the course, among them a couple of handicraft shops selling handmade ropes and belts (used for climbing and tending to date palms), rice mats, baskets and earthenware pots, all of which make interesting souvenirs.
