Shaped like a fort with watchtowers and a central courtyard, this hotel brings some welcome local character to Sohar's rather bland accommodation. Rooms in the main building are a bit old-fashioned, but the chalets are good value and there are pretty gardens leading to the beach. All in all, it makes a peaceful retreat a few minutes' drive from the town's attractions.
