Scandic Bakklandet

Trondheim

At the northern end of Bakklandet, by Bakke Bridge, this upmarket choice has plenty in its favour: a great waterside location overlooking the river, an excellent Norwegian restaurant and a very decent bar. The rooms aren't terribly exciting – expect generic furniture and neutral colour schemes, partnered with occasionally adventurous wallpaper. River-view rooms are the best here.
