Rondvassbu DNT

Central Norway

Built in 1903, this fine old mountain hostel run by the DNT is located 6km up a track from the Spranghaugen car park, at the southern end of Rondevatnet Lake. There are 128 beds, spread out between two-bed and four-bed rooms and a big dormitory. Duvets and pillows are supplied, but you'll need your own liner or sleeping bag.

Hot showers and toilets are in a separate building. Breakfast costs 170kr, and a three-course evening meal 395kr. There are discounts to DNT members.

Note that the hut is closed from 1 May to 10 June during the wild reindeer calving season. It's possible to stay outside official opening times, but reservations are essential; contact the DNT office for details.
